Before the first build cycle, establish a starting state you can inspect. Choose a small project you know and are allowed to share with the selected endpoint. The first task is to read and explain, so you can evaluate the setup before authorizing changes.
Prepare the working copy.
Identify the project folder, its current changes, and its usual test or build command. Preserve existing work through your normal workflow. Keep secrets and unrelated material out of the context you provide.
Confirm the route.
Verify the endpoint address, model selection, and authentication method in the software you use. Review the provider settings and tool permissions that apply to this session. A successful connection does not establish that every tool or model behavior suits your task.
Read before writing.
Use a request with a clear stop. Check its file references and compare its explanation with the repository. Move to one bounded edit only when the answer is grounded in the actual project.
Read the selected project without editing files.
Identify its entry point and the existing test command.
Trace one user action through the relevant code.
List the files you inspected and any uncertainty.
